Author Guidelines

Authorship

Before you submit, make sure the author list is complete, the order of authors is correct, and the Corresponding Author is clearly identified. These details should be carefully checked, because changes after submission are not normally allowed.

If a change is truly necessary — such as adding or removing an author or switching the Corresponding Author — the journal will only consider it if a formal request is submitted. This request must explain the reason for the change and include a signed statement from all authors confirming their agreement. The Editorial Board will review the request and decide whether to approve it.

Editorial Procedure

JASTT follows a double-blind peer review process. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout.

To ensure anonymity, authors must:

  • Remove names, institutional affiliations, and other identifiers from the main manuscript and all supplementary files.
  • Prepare a separate Title Page that includes the manuscript title, all author details, acknowledgements, funding information, and conflict-of-interest disclosures.
  • Avoid self-citations or wording that could reveal author identity.

Manuscript Preparation

Title Page

A separate title page must be submitted with each manuscript. This page should include:

  • Title: concise and informative.
  • Author Information: full names, institutional affiliations (department, university or organization, city, country), and the e-mail address of the Corresponding Author. Authors are encouraged to provide their ORCID iDs.
  • For authors without institutional affiliation, only their city and country will be listed unless they request their email also be shown.
  • Acknowledgements, funding information, and disclosures.

Use of AI Tools: Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, do not meet the criteria for authorship. Authorship implies accountability, which AI systems cannot provide. If AI tools are used in preparing a manuscript, this must be disclosed in the Methods section (or another suitable section). Routine AI-assisted language editing for grammar, clarity, or formatting does not require disclosure. Final responsibility for the content always rests with the human authors.

Main Manuscript

The main manuscript must be anonymized and structured as follows:

  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (3–6 keywords)
  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References

The manuscript should not exceed 16 pages. Authors are encouraged to use the downloadable template.

Figures and Tables

  • Figures and tables should be embedded within the manuscript text, close to where they are cited.
  • Each figure and table must have a clear caption.
  • Figures should be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Tables should be created using the Word table tool (not as images).

Bullets and Numbering

  • Use standard Word bullet points or numbered lists for clarity.
  • Avoid custom symbols or formatting that may not display correctly during typesetting.
  • Ensure lists are consistent in style throughout the manuscript.

References

JASTT uses Numbering citation style. Authors must ensure accuracy and consistency in references. Where possible, DOIs should be included.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors must ensure that their manuscripts comply with all the following requirements. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned.

  • The submission has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in these guidelines.
  • Where available, URLs for references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced, uses a 12-point font, and employs italics rather than underlining. Illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points rather than at the end.
  • The manuscript file is in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
