Editorial Policies
The Journal of Applied Science and Technological Trends (JASTT) upholds the highest standards of ethical publishing and editorial integrity. All manuscripts submitted to JASTT are evaluated according to internationally recognized guidelines for responsible research and scientific publishing.
Our editorial policies cover the following areas:
- Peer Review Policy
All submissions to JASTT undergo a double-blind peer review process by at least two independent expert reviewers.
Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and absence of conflicts of interest.
The editorial team ensures a fair, objective, and confidential review process for all submissions.
JASTT is committed to timely communication with authors and strives to provide first decisions within five days.
- Author Responsibilities and Ethical Standards
Authors submitting to JASTT must adhere to the following principles:
- Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the study.
- All listed authors must approve the submitted manuscript and any significant revisions.
- Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest.
- All sources must be properly cited and referenced.
- Research involving human participants or animals must comply with international ethical standards and include appropriate ethics committee approvals.
- Authors must avoid duplicate publication or simultaneous submission to other journals.
In cases of proven misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, fabrication, falsification), JASTT reserves the right to retract published articles and inform relevant institutions.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy
- Authors may use AI tools (such as language editing tools) to assist in manuscript preparation; however, AI must not be credited as an author.
- Any use of AI-generated content must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript.
- Reviewers must not use AI tools to review manuscripts unless authorized by the editorial office to ensure confidentiality and human judgment.
- Data Availability and Reporting Standards
- JASTT encourages authors to make research data available to support transparency and reproducibility.
- Manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement indicating whether data are available, restricted, or not applicable.
- Authors are encouraged to follow community-specific reporting guidelines appropriate to their discipline.
- Ethics and Biosecurity
- Research involving human participants or animals must comply with international ethical standards and secure appropriate approvals.
- Informed consent must be obtained where applicable, and a statement to this effect should be included in the manuscript.
- JASTT supports responsible research practices and expects authors to consider potential dual-use risks or biosecurity implications when reporting sensitive scientific findings.
- Corrections, Retractions, and Appeals
JASTT is committed to correcting errors that affect the integrity or scientific accuracy of published articles.
- Minor errors may be corrected through an erratum.
- Serious errors or ethical violations may result in retractions following COPE guidelines.
- Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions by submitting a formal request to the editorial office.
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure
- Authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the content or review of a submission.
- Conflict of interest statements must be provided at the time of submission and published alongside accepted articles when applicable.
- Special Issues Policy
- Special issues on emerging or interdisciplinary topics may be proposed by guest editors and are subject to the same peer-review and ethical standards as regular issues.
- All special issue proposals must be approved by the JASTT editorial board before launch.
